MaltaPost has gone live with their eCommerce philatelic platform on Monday 13th February 2012 using Swift’s philatelic bureau management software as well as Swift’s e-commerce platform.
The online portal, found at www.maltaphilately.com, allows MaltaPost customers to purchase philatelic services via a well-designed website as well as keep up to date with the latest philatelic goings on. It also manages all back office administration, automating where possible.
“Apart from the front end, the strength of this system lies in the back office function within the philatelic department, the way Swift brings everything together from end to end. Once an online purchase is made, the system automatically triggers a number of processes, such as the generation of the invoice to the client, the creation a picking list with the necessary updates of stock levels, processing of the delivery of the item and managing the philatelic subscription account,” says Pierre Montebello from MaltaPost.
“During the deployment of MaltaPost’s online philatelic bureau, a number of sales had already started coming in. While we are still in early days, we are confident that this was the right move, and it has surpassed all our expectations,” continues Mr Montebello.
Swift Postal understands that philately must not be treated as stock, and has its own workflows and business processes that are unique to the department. Our solution caters for this department by closing the gap between retail sales and philatelic specific services, whether business is conducted online, via a kiosk, mail service or even through the conventional post office.
