Swift Philately’s team was present at the SEPAC conference held in Gibraltar from the 18th to the 20th April 2012. SEPAC, the Small European Postal Administration Cooperation, invited Swift to discuss how eCommerce can be made easy and accessible for the Philatelic Bureau.
The event was well attended and packed with activities, including presentations sharing bureau experiences, as well as discussions on best practices.
During Swift’s presentation, Simon Azzopardi, Sales and Marketing manager of Swift Postal, and Andrew Calleja, Product Manager of Swift Postal, presented their thoughts on streamlining the philatelic bureau and easing the transition towards eCommerce.
“A philatelic bureau rarely gets the attention it requires in terms of systems and business optimisation. The presentation discussed the importance of ensuring that all components making up eCommerce must be available. An effective eCommerce portal must be driven by a philatelic specific back end,” say Simon Azzopardi.
“Swift Philately was well received at the conference. This was mainly due to rich functionality that is Philately specific and that it comes with inbuilt best practices. Unlike other systems, Swift Philately was built solely for the bureau,” says Andrew Calleja.
SEPAC is made up of the following member states: Aland, Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Greenland, Guernsey, Iceland, Isle of Man, Jersey, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, San Marino and Vatican City. Swift Postal, being from Malta, understands the challenges that the smaller postal administrator face on a day to day basis.
“All our Swift solutions, including our Philately software, is built with the smaller operation in mind. We ensure that our systems are kept accessible and can be scaled up and down to suit the Bureau willing to automate and modernise where possible”, says Simon Azzopardi.
