For the third year in succession, Swift Postal has exhibited its product range at the annual Post-Expo 2010, held in Copenhagen, Denmark, on October 6-8.
Post-Expo is the world’s leading event for the international postal, express and mailing industries, with over 180 exhibitors, attracting over 4,000 top industry executives from 100 countries.
Swift Postal has launched the Swift Customer Portal, a suite of modules that facilitates the process of generating an online web portal for easier customer access. Among the modules offered are online postal, philately, retail, financial services, bill payments and e-Government services, introducing a new revenue stream for postal clients.
“With the launch of the Swift Customer Portal, Swift Postal is once again staying ahead of the competition through innovation and our ability to come up with products that the market needs,” Dr John Abela, Chief Technical Officer of Ascent Software, said. “This is a complete e-business solution with both postal and non-postal modules that interface with complex back end systems that our clients would run.”
The product can be customised to suite the individual operator’s brand and, thanks to open integration, merges seamlessly with the operator’s IT infrastructure while enabling future third-party add-ons.
The flagship Swift Postal product is Swift Retail, a best-of-breed postal counter automation solution that offers postal organisations the functionality and flexibility needed to compete in a deregulated environment. The solution includes point of sale, postage, parcels, bill payment, financial services, stock control and reporting features. It has been acquired in many European countries and in the Caribbean.
Last year’s innovation was the stand-alone self-service Swift Kiosk, a solution that integrates both hardware and software in an attractive unit. Each kiosk handles weighing and postal functions, bill and traffic fine payments, mobile top-ups and foreign exchange services. It integrates a secured cashbox and a locked post box. Remote monitoring enables the production of activity reports, the detection and solving of problems remotely, stock management, consumable supplies and updates of postage and foreign exchange rates.
Steel is used for the external structure, combined with retail-friendly moulded plastic surfaces. The Swift Kiosk is designed to have an outstanding appearance with excellent tactile properties.
Once again Swift Postal has taken up a larger stand than in previous editions. This year’s stand covered 40 m2. Two Swift Postal executives, Managing Director Joseph Sultana and Marketing Manager Simon Azzopardi, traveled to Copenhagen to attend the fair.
